Who is eligible for COMET?

To be eligible for COMET, a woman must

• Be 40 years of age or older
• Have a recent diagnosis of low-risk DCIS
• Have no history of breast cancer or DCIS 5 years prior to current DCIS diagnosis
• Have no mass on physical exam or on imaging

Women who are eligible for the study and choose to join are assigned to receive either Active Monitoring or Surgery. Both are good options, and we do not know if one is better than the other.
